About me
I was born in the French Alps and traveled a lot during my childhood (with a notable 3-years stay on the islands of Saint-Pierre et Miquelon, just south of Newfoundland). Then I lived in London for a while, and I now settled in Barcelona, where I spend most of my time reading, writing, and singing Gospel music.
I have a bachelor in geology, worked as a waitress, bookseller, chef, gas-meter-reading girl, life coach… (this list is by no means exhaustive. I’m currently working in a bakery).
But what’s most important to know about someone?
I always get out of bed with my right foot first, I hate cats (you never know what they think), I get way too happy intoxicating myself with caffeine, and I’m currently working on my first novel.
Something I do just for myself? Painting… I love to paint.
About the blog
It’s a diary I’ve been keeping for twenty years now. I decided to share it publicly, because some bright morning of spring, it just made sense, it couldn’t be any other way, any longer. I don’t write to help. You must know that. Nor do I think I have any secret guidance that must be shared.
I do what any other human being does: I figure out as I go, and I learn. On my way? I tell stories, I draw, I paint. I try to be as honest as I can. And I go in the streets with my camera in hand, like a madwoman in search of meaning… And whatever life means, I’ll chase it.
Just so you know
◆ I write in whatever language inspires me in the moment. In French, in English, in Spanish or in Catalan. Then I translate. You might find some grammatical clumsiness or mistakes, so I ask, beforehand, forgiveness. I own that clumsiness. I prefer it to an AI-made copy.
◆ All illustrations are mine (photos, drawings, illustrations or paintings) except clearly specified. In that case, you’ll find the full name of the artist and if possible, a direct link to their own website/page.
◆ Although in my wildest dreams, I too can make a living of what I’m passionate about, I decided long ago that this page would remain INDEPENDENT and FREE from any kind of advertising. No Amazon link (I want you to go to a real bookstore and talk to people), no product placement (please do watch The Truman Show if you’re not sure what product placements are*), no ad sidebars (It’s just you and your daily readings) and cookies are only used to help me understand how more readers can find my poetry.
◆ People and places I mention in my stories are all real, but of course, for everybody’s peace of mind, I changed their names.
◆ And last but not least, you should know I believe in God and it’s my greatest joy.
(*Please do watch and re-watch The Truman Show anyway, for your own sake.)
How to support
my work
Share.
♥ I created PDFs for each and every article I publish so you can print them and share with your friends and family, and neighbours and barista and newspaper guy etc. etc.
♥ You can also click the “Spread the word” button to share your favourite texts by email.
♥ Finally, let’s keep in touch on social medias.
Shop.
♥ Every time you buy an original art piece, you make all of this matter. I’d still paint, and create, and try to make the world make sense, but thanks to your purchase, I can focus on the next work at hand.
♥ You don’t know how much bliss I feel when I see you in the street, in the real world, with my tote bag on your shoulder, or drinking your morning coffee in the cup I designed for the blog. There are no words. You make all of this possible.
Donate.
HELP ME KEEP THIS PAGE FREE & INDEPENDENT :
♥ Become a PATRON, donating monthly the amount of your choice, or
♥ Make a one-time DONATION, as an expression of your appreciation.
As I like to put it: leave a tip for the artist. (Imagine I’m drawing in the street, with a hat on the floor).
N.B: Having you just reading my texts is the most beautiful way I know you can support my work. And you don’t know how grateful I am for it ♡
